What a lesson actually looks like.

No guessing what you're signing up for. Here's the kind of exercise and AI support you'll see from your very first lesson.

Combined Pronouns ยท Unit 13
Completa: 'Il libro? Me ____ ha prestato Marco.'
A   lo
B   l'   โœ“
C   li
D   la

Every exercise ties back to the grammar pattern behind it — not just a right/wrong answer.

Lira
Great question! We use l' here because lo elides before a vowel sound (ha). With plural pronouns like li or le, we never elide.
Why not "me lo ha prestato"?
You could say that in slower speech, but Italians almost always contract lo/la + ha/hai/ho for a smoother sound. Try it out loud!

Ask Lira "why" at any point — it explains the logic, not just the fix.

Emanuele Dirignani, native Italian teacher and founder of Italicore
Created by a Native Italian Teacher

Meet Emanuele Dirignani.

Ciao! I'm Emanuele Dirignani, a native Italian with over 4 years of tutoring experience.

I created Italicore because many learners can memorize vocabulary and complete exercises without ever gaining a clear mental model of how Italian sentences work.

My approach is simple:
understand the underlying patterns first, then use those patterns to build your own Italian.

Italicore guides learners systematically from beginner comprehension (A1) toward intermediate conversational independence (B1).

A presto!

"It's so gooood! It helps me memorize and revisit the lesson if I want to repeat the lesson. Even if I'm in free plan for now, I can still learn Italian day-by-day by clicking all the unfamiliar words wherein there would be a translation that will pop up and how it was pronounce. The step by step process also helps me to learn how the structure of the adjectives and verbs and knowing when to use avere and essere. There's a reading section too based on your level and a journal to share what you learn on a specific day!"
